Tale of 3 Christmases

We enjoyed a long visit to South Dakota for Christmas. We DROVE both ways, which made for a lot of car time. Grandpa Mikey was hospitalized before Christmas, so we left a few days earlier than expected. We stayed in Sioux Falls and spent some quality time with him, along with time with Boo Boo and Abi and a few moments in the cold, cold snow. The first week of our trip was brutally cold, especially compared to Houston. (We've become very thin-blooded.) We celebrated Christmas Eve and morning with the Bliss parents, Christmas Day with the Hohn dad (he was released from the hospital that day!), and a few days in the Black Hills after Christmas with Mom Van Patten and Jon. We returned to Houston for New Year's, and just in time for some wonderful days of warm temps and low humidity. We celebrated New Year's Eve with our dear friends, the Carlsons.

Happy New Year to all! Here are some photos from our trip...

Sledding at Tuthill Park

Christmas #1- Christmas Eve

Christmas #1- Christmas Day

Our family tradition is to open family gifts on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day, we open stockings and gifts from Santa. Jeremiah and Liliana got special gifts at each of their FOUR gift-opening opportunities... They really cleaned up this year!

Christmas #2

While Dad's Birthday is always somewhat overshadowed by Christmas, this year it was the long hospital visit that threatened to keep him out of the celebrations. Thankfully, Dad/Grandpa Mikey made it home for food and presents!

Christmas #3

We had a great time at Mom and Jon's big log cabin in the Black Hills. Jeremiah and Jeremy got to do some ice fishing with Jon and his brother. We all enjoyed feeding the horses, playing with the cats and dogs, and sledding. We especially enjoyed the delicious food and company!

UN-trimming the Tree

Jeremiah and Liliana helped take down Christmas decorations after we returned to Houston. We lost only a few ornaments with their help...

The LONG Car Rides

Here are a few pictures of our little road warriors. We traveled almost 3000 miles over Christmas!
