Hurricane Ike hit us hard...

Here are pictures of our neighboorhood after the storm. We had HIGH winds, 10 inches of rain, and a loss of power for four days. Being in the storm was surreal. We were fortunate that we did not have any trees fall on our house, like many of our neighbors. We did lose quite a few small trees, and cleaned three trailers full of branches and 25 bags of leaves and debris.

The first five pictures are within a block of us, the last four pictures are of OUR BACKYARD. We fared much better than the coastal communities, but still sustained much physical damage. It's hard to believe how dependent we are on electricity. We were surprisingly affected by the loss of electricity. After just a day or two, we were really missing our air conditioning, LIGHTS, internet, phones and TV!
