Galveston

Last weekend we went down to the ocean to see what Galveston is all about. Galveston sits between Galveston bay (freshwater) and the Gulf of Mexico (saltwater). The result is an interesting de-salinated brackish water that will most likely not make the cover of Conde Nast traveler. The city of Galveston has been around forever, but it looks like they stopped updating the buildings in 1968. When we got to town we realized that there was a bike rally for the weekend and while this was not Sturgis, there were about 300,000 bikers on the island. We quickly found Galveston Island State park and escaped some of the noise and Jeremiah had a blast. We started out fully clothed but has his excitement level rose, his clothes became wet rapidly.
